The Allied Health Assistant works as a member of the Allied Health Team providing acute and subacute care to inpatients of the Biloela Hospital and outreach Multipurpose Health Service as well as outpatient and community patients. Care is provided through the provision of clinical support tasks.

About us:

Biloela Hospital provides a range of hospital and visiting specialist services to the Biloela and Banana region. Our vision, outlined in our Destination 2030: Great Care for Central Queenslanders strategy, indicates that Biloela Hospital will be the Banana hub for emergency, maternity, diagnostic and a range of surgical services. We invest in Telehealth technology to provide local access to services wherever possible.

The Gladstone and Banana Allied Health Clinical Network consists of six on site Health Practitioner professions: Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Physiotherapy, Nutrition and Dietetics, Psychology and Social Work. In addition to the generalist services provided, the Allied Health professions provide two targeted service areas, namely developmental paediatrics and cancer care. Senior Allied Health clinicians have regular contact with senior staff within the hospital and across Central Queensland (CQ) Health. Regular communication occurs with the professional seniors and the Allied Health Team Leader - Banana.

About the role:

The Allied Health Assistant works as a member of the Banana Allied Health Team, providing acute and subacute care to inpatients of the Biloela Hospital and outreach Multipurpose Health Service (MPHS) facilities, as well as outpatient and community patients. Care is supported through the provision of clinical support tasks under the direction and supervision of an Allied Health Professional.

About you:

The ideal applicant will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

  • Ability to work autonomously with indirect supervision as an effective team member while showing initiative, enthusiasm and commitment.
  • High level of verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Work effectively in a multidisciplinary team while building and maintaining appropriate work relationships with clients, colleagues and stakeholders.

Salary information:

Total remuneration value of up to $12,589 p.a. is comprised of:

  • A hourly rate between $33.52 - $35.24 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
