About your opportunity:

Fixed term temporary full-time, up to 12 months, commencing 22/07/2024

This position will support Staff Specialists and Senior Medical Staff ensuring that Nuclear Medicine and Radiology services provided to the Townsville Hospital and Health Service are in accordance with best practice models. This is a position for those who may be interested in future training in Nuclear Medicine/Radiology. This post is currently not an accredited training position. This position is under current consideration for re-accreditation with the RACP to fulfill core training in Nuclear Medicine, the accreditation outcome is subject to College approval. 

The ideal candidate will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following: 

  • Apply clinical knowledge and skills appropriate to a tertiary level Medical imaging service.
  • Utilise personal organisational and communication skills to support effective clinical / patient flows.
  • Add value to the multi-disciplinary clinical team.
  • Apply knowledge and skills to support SMO staff in nuclear medicine and radiology.
  • Adaptable to develop new skills e.g. perform MPS Stress studies.
  • Has effective written communication skills.

Our offer:

Generous remuneration package value up to $189,592 p.a., comprising:

  • Base salary between $4822.20 to $5591.00 p.f. (L4-L9)
  • Employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%)
  • 5 weeks annual leave + 17.5% loading
  • Attraction and retention incentive allowance (50% base salary)
  • Regional and rural attraction allowance (5% base salary)
  • Motor vehicle allowance - $21,000 or $25,500 p.a.
  • Professional development assistance – allowance, Vocational Training Subsidy (if applicable), PD leave, and exam leave

Requirements:

  • Mandatory: MBBS or equivalent (AMC).
  • Minimum of two years of post-graduate clinical medical experience.
  • Australian Permanent Residency Status or Current work visa for full duration of the RANZCR training (5 years).
  • General Registration with the Australian Medical Board (no restrictions).
  • IELTS Pass of 8 or above for those with English as a second language (include documentation).
  • Pass in both AMC MCQ Examinations.
  • Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration or membership (if applicable) with the appropriate registration authority or association. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager prior to commencement of clinical duties.
  • If appointee is not accepted into a recognised vocational college training program – employment will only be as a Principal House Officer and remuneration will be at PHO Level per fortnight – (L4-L7).
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
  • Probation period may apply.
  • Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
