About the role

  • Provision of high-quality specialist care to patients on an outpatient basis
  • Training, mentoring and supervision of junior clinicians, including medical, nursing, nurse practitioner, and allied health staff working within the COH Diabetes service.
  • Actively participate in and/or drive relevant education or training programs including those which optimise clinical, workplace or safety and quality areas to promote ongoing professional and personal development
  • Participation and development of clinical research in collaboration with stakeholders 
  • Participation in the development of innovative service delivery

About you

  • Appointment to this position requires proof of specialist registration (or eligibility for registration) with the Medical Board of Australia in Endocrinology. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
  • The successful applicant must have Scope of Clinical Practice (SoCP) awarded by a Metro North Health delegate prior to commencing duties.  Information presented for application will be presented to the credentialing committee during the selection process, and all appointments are subject to maintenance of SoCP within the CSCF for the facilities in which clinical work is to be undertaken.  This process must be completed prior to commencement.

Specifically, for this role, the successful candidate should ideally demonstrate:

  • Track record of providing high quality direct clinical care in Community Diabetes
  • High quality communication skills including clinical handover
  • Clinical research skills
  • Experience education and mentoring junior staff and allied health professionals
  • Collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to clinical care
  • Review of clinical outcomes for individual patients as part of clinical audit
  • Innovative service delivery
