An exciting opportunity exists for the Occupational Therapist - Senior in the Neuro Intensive Rehabilitation (NIR) service to work as part of an MDT in a high functioning specialist Brain and Spinal Cord Injury Day Rehabilitation unit. NIR provides a time limited, high intensity rehabilitation program that aims to support early transition home and patient flow from acute wards.

NIR provides a time limited, high intensity rehabilitation program that aims to support early transition home and patient flow from acute wards.

Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS) is in southeast Queensland and extends through the coastal and hinterland areas from Caloundra in the south to Gympie in the north.

Key Responsibilities include: 

  • Deliver independent high level Occupational Therapy clinical practice with infrequent need for direct clinical practice supervision. Exercise professional judgement to a complex caseload, adapting routine clinical practice based on valid and reliable evidence.
  • Provide high level clinical advice, education and influence towards a common patient-centred vision and direction to professional operational teams and relevant stakeholders regarding service delivery.
  • Provide leadership oversight and clinical practice supervision to less experienced Occupational Therapy practitioners and students as delegated.
  • Adhere to relevant expectations outlined in the SCHHS and Allied Health Governance Framework documents and Business Rules to ensure that best patient outcomes are achieved in a transparent, ethical and accountable manner.

Remuneration value up to $12 731 p.m., comprising salary between $4769.60 - $5132.40 p.f. (f/t) or salary rates: $62.75 - $67.53 p.h. (p/t), employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (HP4) (temporary full or part time positions available for up to 12 months, hours negotiable).
