Provide clinical in-reach and consultation-liaison services to all headspace sites within the Metro North Hospital and Health service (HHS) catchment.

About the role

The headspace Clinical In-reach Team (HCIT) is an initiative of the Better Care Together Plan and the Bilateral Schedule to deliver dedicated, specialist mental health, alcohol and other drug (MHAOD) clinicians within Metro North Mental Health (MNMH) to provide clinical in-reach and consultation-liaison services to all headspace sites within the Metro North Hospital and Health service (HHS) catchment.

The purpose of this team is to improve access to multidisciplinary mental health and alcohol and other drugs treatment and care for adolescents and young adults aged 12-25 years presenting to headspace with more complex mental health needs. The roles in this team will improve integration between headspace sites and MNMH services by providing consultation, clinical advice, on-site specialist care and treatment; and streamlined transition of adolescents and young adults between the two organisations based on clinical need.

This role delivers high quality evidence-based alcohol and other drug (AOD) clinical services for adolescents and young adults and their carer networks, who are presenting to headspace sites within the HHS catchment, who require more complex dual diagnosis assessment and treatment and would benefit from input from a specialist MHAOD team.
