About the role

The Executive Officer/Director of Nursing Casino District Hospital is responsible for the efficient and effective day to day operational and strategic leadership and management of a comprehensive range of hospital services in accordance with Northern NSW Local Health District (NNSWLHD) policy, community needs and budgetary allocation. This position also has responsibility for the organisation and management of nursing, medical and support services to ensure the provision of patient centred, outcome directed care.

As a leader you are expected to support the organisation to achieve the aims of the safety management system, to establish and maintain a positive health and safety culture in the workplace and to consult with workers and others when making decisions that may impact upon the health, safety and welfare of those in the workplace.

Clinician engagement and leadership has been a prominent feature of the public health system for a number of years, where clinician led clinical standards, safety and quality improvements have become a major focus. The LHD is committed to the strengthening and ongoing involvement and clinician engagement of staff that provide direct patient care in the planning, delivery, improvement and evaluation of health services.
