What you'll be doing:
An opportunity now exists for a Dental Assistant Grade 1 to join the Nepean Oral Health team in a Temporary Full time role until the 30th June 2025.

This role will see you assist Dental Officers, Dental Prosthetists and Dental Therapists in clinical situations.

The Dental Assistant must be flexible and able to manage a demanding work day, assisting with the infection control practices of the clinic, maintaining clean dental equipment and participationin oral health promotion activities.

A NSW Health agency may require further information about the medical contraindication (including but not limited to an Immunisation Medical Exemption form - IM011 form).

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.

Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified and must not exceed the duration or conditions associated with the current visa.

Selection criteria to be addressed:

  1. Demonstrated recent and adequate experience in chair side dental assisting with or without certificate III in dental assisting
  2. Demonstrated ability to perform effective and efficient infection prevention and control procedures in all aspects of Dental Assisting
  3. Demonstrated proficiency and accuracy in dental charting
  4. Effective communication written and verbal communication skills
  5. The ability to work in a large, multidiscipline team environment
  6. Demonstrated excellent organisational, time-management and problem-solving skills
  7. Data entry experience and skills
