The Grade 3 Occupational Therapist provides quality care to clients through exemplary clinical skills, effective communication, and clinical leadership within a multidisciplinary team environment. The Occupational Therapist provides assessment, intervention and discharge planning for patients with a variety of medical conditions.

The Occupational Therapy team consists of over 70 staff members who work across the City and Royal Park Campuses in acute, sub-acute and community based services across a range of specialties. The team is a cohesive group of professionals who support and encourage professional development and career growth. The Occupational Therapy (OT) department is aligned with the broader Allied Health service. The role is supported by OT senior clinicians, Grade 4 clinical leader, OT workforce manager and the OT manager.

Your new role:

  • Provide excellent, evidence based and patient centred care including assessment, intervention and discharge planning for patients in the RMH@home sub-acute program
  • Supervise and educate junior occupational therapists, allied health assistants and occupational therapy students
  • Demonstrate excellent communication strategies with patients, relatives, staff and relevant services in order to provide appropriate services and information
  • Actively lead and participate in Allied Health quality improvement initiatives and research

About you:

  • You have hospital or community based experience with a collaborative working style
  • You have effective communication skills and a passion for continued professional development.
  • You are an AHPRA registered Occupational Therapist with a passion for providing evidence based practice
  • You value working with supportive and dedicated Occupational Therapy and multidisciplinary teams.
