About the Opportunity
The Child & Family Community Health Team are seeking a warm, engaging and Registered Psychologist to join their highly supportive team at Fairfield Community Health Centre. This is a permanent role with the opportunity for full time or part time work.

We are looking for someone with a true passion for working with children aged 0-12yrs and their families. This role involves working with a variety of presenting problems including anxiety, emotion regulation and parent/caregiver-child relationships, often in the context of trauma of developmental difficulties. Psychometric and developmental assessments are undertaken as part of this role.

You will have an approachable personality and be able to build quality relationships with the children and families with which you work. Empathy and collaboration are at the forefront of this role and you will be able to maintain your case load of day to day work with children and their families.

Great communication skills are an asset in this role. The large team at Child & Family Psychology have a depth of experience which will allow you to learn, grow and develop in the role. We are a supportive and experienced team that provide clinical supervision and professional development opportunities for each of our team members.

What You'll be Doing
To deliver evidence-based psychological assessments and interventions in order to address the needs of consumers who are living with a wide range of behavioural and emotional disorders.

The role also participates in the evaluation of clinical outcomes of services and assists in the development and provision of education and training programs. Additionally, the role supervises Psychologists and other disciplines working within the LHD according to organisational needs.

How to Apply

  1. Full registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia.Completion of a four-year sequence of accredited undergraduate study in the discipline of psychology (or equivalent completed overseas).
  2. Demonstrated effective experience in assessment, intervention and evaluation of clinical outcomes with diverse patient and/or consumer populations.
  3. Demonstrated experience working independently in the provision of patient/consumer-focused care.
  4. Demonstrated knowledge of the quality improvement process for service development, implementation and evaluation.
  5. Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team to accomplish service goals and improved patient and/or consumer care and outcomes.
  6. Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit the target audience.
  7. Must possess a valid Australian Drivers Licence (excluding learner driver's licences). If not already in possession, a NSW Drivers Licence must be obtained within 3 months of appointment.
