We welcome applications from Registered Nurses looking to transition to the specialty area of paediatric nursing. If you have always wanted to care for children and their families, the Transition to Paediatric Nursing program develops your knowledge and skills to work in one of Australia’s specialist paediatric hospitals. On our CHW Ward, you will have the opportunity to gain experience across different wards and specialties, supported through a network of dedicated educators and ward teams to become competent paediatric nurses, putting the patient and their family at the centre of care. Beyond the program, you will have the opportunity to develop your nursing career through various programs and pathways. For further information about nursing visit https://www.schn.health.nsw.gov.au/about/work-us/nurses The Children’s Hospital at Westmead is currently redeveloping with a new Paediatric Services Building scheduled for completion in 2025 and focusing on health and wellbeing outcomes. The new building will bring together critical services including neonatal and paediatric intensive care, surgical, medical and cancer care.   1. Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  2. Demonstrated excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  3. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
  4. Recent paediatric experience as a registered nurse in a hospital setting.
  5. Effective time management skills
  6. Computer literacy.

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
