Join our team as a Clinical Psychologist / Health Psychologist at the Central Coast Integrated Pain Service (CCIPS) within the Division of Allied Health, Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD). This pivotal role operates within a multidisciplinary team consisting of professionals from Psychology, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Pain Specialists, and Nursing. Your responsibilities will include participation in interdisciplinary assessment clinics, conducting psychological case formulations, and delivering both individual therapy and group programs utilizing evidence-based interventions. Collaboration with multidisciplinary colleagues and external healthcare professionals is integral to the role. Reporting operationally to the Director of Allied Health via the Psychology department, you will benefit from a supportive environment that promotes excellence in clinical standards, ensures adherence to professional codes of conduct, and offers opportunities for ongoing professional development. Individuals pursuing their Master's degree are encouraged to apply as well.

About You

  • Four-year degree in Psychology from a recognised tertiary institution and completion or currently completing a two-year Masters Degree or higher in Clinical Psychology or Health Psychology. Current full registration with AHPRA Psychology Board of Australia and AHPRA endorsement in Clinical Psychology or Health Psychology, or eligibility to enrol as a registrar in Clinical Psychology or Health Psychology.
  • Are you proficient in conducting comprehensive psychological assessments and case formulations for individuals with chronic pain conditions, facilitating tailored treatment plans.
  • Can you provide evidence-based, individualised clinical psychology services aimed at improving pain self-management and addressing associated conditions such as anxiety, mood disorders, and posttraumatic stress disorder, either within the service's scope or through referral to external psychology services in the community?

Where You’ll Be Working

As a Clinical Psychologist / Health Psychologist, you will provide essential services to individuals in the community suffering from non-cancerous chronic pain conditions, who have not responded to standard treatments and will be based at Gosford Hospital.
