The Position

An exciting opportunity has became available for a Senior Staff Specialist/Staff Specialist in Obstetrics & Gynaecology in Northern QLD.


You will be assisting the Director of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the provision of an effective, efficient and equitable obstetrics and gynaecology service for the health service. This will be achieved through undertaking clinical duties and ensuring a high standard of clinical care is delivered within, Women’s Health at this Northern QLD Hospital.


You will also be required to participate in outreach obstetrics and gynaecology services in surrounding areas. With the ability to  relieve the Director of Obstetrics and Gynaecology as required you will provide leadership and teaching to the junior medical staff (House Officers/Registrars) allocated to Women’s Health

Essential Criteria

  • Registration as a Specialist Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). 

  • Must have Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists or equivalent.

  • Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) evidence as required for your employment in accordance with legislation/government policy and Directives.


The Package

  • Remuneration value up to $484 807 p.a. (L25 – L27) or;

  • Remuneration value up to $443 589 p.a. (L18 – L24)

  • Employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%), 

  • Annual leave loading (17.5%), 

  • Professional development allowance, motor vehicle allowance, professional development leave 3.6 weeks p.a. 

  • Private practice arrangements

  • This role may be eligible for the Queensland Health Attraction Incentive (conditions apply).
