The opportunity is HERE for a highly Professional, committed and dedicated General Practitioner to join Our family practice. If you are wanting to leave the hustle and bustle of the city, then this is the position for you.

Canning St Surgery is a General Family medical practice, located in the friendly country town of Bega, the home of Bega Cheese!  We are based in the heart of the Bega Valley on the Sapphire coast. Our Practice has been established for 50+ years and is still located in its original position. We are located just 15 mins away from some of the most beautiful beaches in Australia, picturesque rolling green hills, and the best outdoor walking & bike riding tracks. We have some of the best eating establishments including the gourmet coast food trail. We are 3 hours from Canberra and the Snowy mountains.  Access to Merimbula airport will make either Melbourne or Sydney a 1-hour flight away.

This fully Accredited practice and award-winning customer service team consists of 4 dedicated doctors, 2 Registered nurses, 3 friendly admin staff and an enthusiastic practice manager.  We are a MM5 location with DPA. All our doctors currently have full books and we also visit the local nursing home.

We have a diverse range of patients and we offer a wide range of services to suit our patients’ needs.  Our doctors, offer all aspects of family medicine including health assessments, care plans, pain management, geriatric medicine, skin checks, vaccination clinics, Chronic disease management, Paediatrics, Women & Men’s health, Mental health, Minor procedures, geriatric care, telehealth services and We also complete work cover, insurance medicals, and pre-employment medicals.

 THE ROLE /DUTIES

 

• Ensure the delivery of high quality, proactive & preventative medical care.
• To assess, diagnose and treat clients at the General Practice level
• Work closely with specialists to provide integrated and seamless care
• Service & retain current patient base, while supporting growth of our practice
• Manage highly effective working relationships with the clinic team.

• To deliver and develop management plans, and review outcomes
• Ensure accurate maintenance & compliance of medical records

• The option to take on Nursing home patients

• Liaise with colleagues, internal/external providers to ensure efficient health care
• Participate in training, health education as well as accreditation and QIP.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

• Full CV and cover letter
• Full unconditional registration with AHPRA as a Medical Practitioner
• Primary Care experience desirable but not essential
• Australia Resident or Permanent resident desirable.

• Ability to work as part of a team
• Ongoing commitment to professional development.
• Demonstrate understanding of workplace health and safety
• Must have FRACGP or equivalent

• Be available to commence asap

• Have a passion for Family Medicine
• Current medical indemnity insurance
• Permanent VR General Practitioners
• Knowledge of MBS item numbers and billing desirable.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail

• Excellent communication skills and a passion for providing care in the community that makes a difference

• Relevant experience and qualifications
• Current National Police check
• Good time management skills
