We are seeking a Rural Health Medical Specialist or Medical Officer to join the team at Bay of Islands Hospital. This is a permanent role based in the Mid-North region of Northland – New Zealand.

We are looking for a dynamic team player to provide medical care to acutely ill patients in the A&M department as well as the General Ward. Our team is close-knit and our rural specialists are role models and mentors; everyone becomes mates very quickly to work as one. To be considered you must have or be eligible for specialist (or locum tenens) registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand in a Rural Hospital Medicine scope of practice. For overseas candidates a hospital-based generalist scope of practice may be considered, subject to experience and Medical Council requirements.
