MEMBERSHIP OF THE AUSTRALIAN TECHNICAL ADVISORY GROUP ON IMMUNISATION (ATAGI)

The Department of Health and Aged Care is seeking expressions of interest from experts for positions on the non-statutory advisory committee, the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (ATAGI). This committee provides advice to the Minister for Health and Aged Care on technical matters relating to the administration of vaccines in Australia with a focus on the National Immunisation Program. In addition, the ATAGI advises the Pharmaceutical Benefits Advisory Committee (PBAC) on existing, new and emerging vaccines and develops the Australian Immunisation Handbook.
Up to 7 expert advisors are being sought with high level immunisation expertise from a range of fields including: modelling/clinical lab work/clinical trials, general practitioner, immunisation provider/vaccine procedures/nursing, epidemiology/public health, adult infectious diseases and childhood infectious diseases/paediatrician.
Remuneration and travel for ATAGI members are in accordance with the latest determination of the Remuneration Advisory Tribunal. Members are bound by the committee-in-confidence obligations to declare all potential declarations of interest before ATAGI meetings.
Terms of appointment are for up to 4 years, commencing 1 July 2023.
