About Monash Health Bureau

Monash Health Bureau (MHB) is based at Kingston Centre and is an efficient workforce unit that allocates over 450 shifts per day across Monash Health.  We deliver experienced nursing and midwifery staff to meet the demands of a multi specialised organisation which includes;

Acute Medicine, Subacute & Community

Speciality Medicine, Cancer & Critical Care

Surgery & Interventional Services

Women’s & Newborn


Mental Health

We now have an exciting and unique opportunity for a Registered Nurse who is seeking to broaden their experience in nursing and midwifery management and leadership.  Working 32 hours a week, you will be responsible for growing, supporting and evaluating the nursing and midwifery workforce.

About the role

We are seeking a Registered Nurse with management experience as a Unit Manager, an Assistant Unit Manager or the nurse in charge role with demonstrated skills in management, recruitment, rostering, and clinical capabilities. The nursing and midwifery pool employs permanent staff to backfill unplanned leave on a shift by shift basis.

Your key responsibilities will be;

Management of the nursing and midwifery pool

Expanding, managing and monitoring our nursing and midwifery workforce

End to end recruitment

Operational focus and liaison

Supporting clinical training compliance

Performance reviews and management

Liaison with key stakeholders

About You

You are an experienced Registered Nurse looking for an opportunity to expand your experience in management, leadership and workforce planning.  You have a strong focus on patient centred care and leadership. You have exceptional planning, critical thinking, and communication skills.

As an integral part of the organisation you have strong customer service skills in representing the MHB workforce and consistently demonstrate our core values.

What you need to have

Current AHPRA registration;

Current Working with Children’s Check;

Proven experience;

MS Office and Excel experience;

Relevant working visa; and

Relevant qualifications
