Purpose of Position
To provide clinical leadership and operational and strategic management to the Primary and Community Health Occupational Therapy Department.
Together with other senior managers, assist in the planning, coordination, development and review of Child Youth and Family Clinical services across Primary and Community Health.
The Occupational Therapy HOD is responsible for coordinating district services and is accountable for the provision of accessible, equitable and evidence-based services.
Recognised degree in Occupational Therapy or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer and current National Occupational Therapy Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Demonstrated experience in the management of an Occupational Therapy Department or team.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the evaluation of outcomes of a clinical service and in analysis, coordination, implementation and evaluation of strategic and operational planning.
Demonstrated extensive and current experience in the supervision of staff.
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective internal and external partnerships.
Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication, including interpersonal, advocacy and negotiation skills.
Current unrestricted Australian drivers licence (P2 Licence Acceptable) subject to obtaining NSW drivers licence within 3 months of appointment.
Demonstrated extensive clinical experience in a paediatric setting preferably Community Health.
