About the role

An exciting opportunity exists for you to join the nursing education team (NaMES) within Monash Children's Hospital in a permanent 0.84 EFT Paediatric Clinical Nurse Educator position. We require a highly skilled clinician with a passion for education who will be responsible for providing clinical and educational support to nursing (and midwifery) staff across Monash Health (with a particular focus in Paediatric Nursing). Some of your specific accountability's will include:

Providing contemporary education that promotes best practice standards. 

Clinical support to staff of all proficiency levels, novice to expert 

Demonstrating and promoting best practice standards 

Helping to ensure that through a highly skilled and educated workforce our patients receive safe and high-quality care in Monash Children's Hospital 

Working collaboratively with the leadership team including the multi-disciplinary team 

About you

You are a senior, highly skilled Nursing clinician with well-developed engagement, communication and collaboration skills.  You have post graduate qualifications in Paediatrics and/or Education, extensive experience in the Paediatric environment and experience in supporting learners and in particular, you can demonstrate:

Commitment to quality clinical care and sound clinical skills 

Proven leadership skills and the ability to work effectively with a multi-disciplinary team 

Ability to show initiative and work independently when required 

Ability to demonstrate a sound understanding of Paediatric clinical practice; and 

A well-developed understanding of different teaching and learning styles. 

In addition, the following attributes will be highly regarded:

A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment; 

Completion of, or working towards postgraduate qualifications in education
