Occupational Therapist

Purpose of Position

To provide a high quality consumer focused, evidence-based therapeutic interventions to improve the mental health of children and adolescents (and their families and carers) who reside in Lake Macquarie. To contribute as a member of a multidisciplinary team to the assessment, treatment and ongoing management of children and adolescents (and their families and carers).

Selection Criteria

Must hold a relevant degree in Social Work or Occupational Therapy, or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer, which provides eligibility or membership of the relevant professional association/full registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.

Experience in assessment and intervention with children and young people and their families / carers.

Experience in providing a range of therapeutic interventions with children and families.

Demonstrated high level of written and verbal communication skills.

Knowledge of Mental Health Act and Children and Young Persons (Care & Protection) Act.

Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and within a multi disciplinary team.

Demonstrated experience and sound computer literacy and current Driver's Licence (NSW eligibility).
