Purpose of Position
Coordination of efficient and effective immunisation services on the Central Coast. Including working closely with Child and Family Health Service staff who deliver the School Immunisation Program.
Provision of provider and community immunisation education in the Central Coast area.
Collation of available immunisation surveillance data and reporting this to relevant stakeholders within the Central Coast Local Health District
Implementation of strategies to achieve state and national immunisation targets.
Provision of recommended policies as issued by NSW Ministry of Health, to relevant immunisation providers in the Central Coast, and in timely fashion.
Contributing positively to multi-disciplinary teamwork within the Public Health Unit, Central Coast Local Health District, and amongst health professionals in the wider community.
Provision of high level clinical expertise and support when appropriate.
RN List A registered with AHPRA with at least 5 years post registration experience and 3 years experience in immunisation relevant practice.
Current authorisation as an authorised nurse immuniser.
A high level of technical knowledge in vaccine administration, vaccine preventable diseases and surveillance, vaccine developments, cold chain, adverse events and immunisation program management.
Demonstrated highly developed written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal and problem solving capabilities.
Demonstrated ability to work within a small team of professionals.
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and prioritise work when faced with competing demands; time management skills.
High level of computer literacy (demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Office applications).
Current valid Australian drivers licence.
