Provide evidence based clinical psychology services to children and young people (and their parents/carers) within the Paediatric and Adolescent and Young Adult Service.
The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Psychologist (Paediatrics) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Deliver clinical health psychology services including assessment, diagnosis and treatment on referral from subspecialty, medical, nursing and allied health multidisciplinary teams
- Work in partnership with children, adolescents and young adults, and their parents/carer support networks, the multidisciplinary team and other support agencies
- Provide clinical advice to professional and operational supervisors, relevant service managers and stakeholders applying the latest evidence and judgement to influence the development of clinical services
- Work cooperatively and effectively within multiple clinical teams and with patients, liasing with their families, other health professionals, supervisors, students and researchers, as required
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- A tertiary degree in Psychology (or equivalent) from a recognised tertiary institution
- AHPRA Registration
- Drivers Licence
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Permanent part time (60.8 hrs p.f.).
- Base salary ranging from $38.70 - $56.89 per hour

The Paediatric and Adolescent and Young Adult psychology service is a clinical stream of the Acute Psychology Service, within the division of Allied Health and Rehabilitation Services, providing inpatient and outpatient support to children, adolescents, young adults and their families, who present to hospital with physical health and comorbid psychological conditions.
