 Tell me more...Manage the provision and delivering effective Primary Clinical Care and Emergency Care. The position will be an integral member in the planning, development and implementation of educational and promotional activities and materiel which are aimed at prevention and early intervention for better health outcomes.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience and advanced knowledge in the management and delivery of Primary Health Care – including primary clinical care and community care services in an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander remote setting.
  • Demonstrated understanding of culture and traditions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island peoples and ability to apply this understanding into the provision of health care delivery.
  • Advanced communication and problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to lead a multi-disciplinary team in a cross-cultural environment in a health service delivery setting.

Requirements for the role:

  • Diploma in Aboriginal and/ or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care.
  • Under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991, there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be Indigenous to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Island community.
  • Potential applicants are advised that the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian Act 2000 requires Queensland Health to seek a ‘working with children check'; from the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian prior to appointment to this position.
