What you'll be doing

Working within a multidisciplinary team, this position will provide recovery oriented clinical rehabilitation interventions with people aged 16-65 and living with mental health issues in the community. This position provides: assessment and rehabilitation care planning, skills development and education, VETE, health promotion, specialist therapies and referral and linkage to relevant agencies as appropriate.

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed an up-to-date course of a COVID-19 vaccine (2 doses) which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Please provide proof of vaccination if available.

Selection Criteria

  1. Professional qualification: Social Worker (eligible for membership AASW)/Occupational Therapist with current registration with Occupational Therapy Board/AHPRA / Registered Nurse with current registration with NSW Nurses & Midwives Board/AHPRA/ Psychologist with current registration with AHPRA or NSW Psychologists board.
  2. High level verbal and written communication skills.
  3. Experience working in mental health with a commitment to a consumer focused recovery- oriented approach and demonstrated experience in planning, implementing and evaluating individual and group interventions in mental health services.
  4. Knowledge of best practice mental health rehabilitation principles and current models of practice.
  5. Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  6. Current NSW Driver’s Licence (Class C - unrestricted) and computer skills (proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry).
