What you'll be doing
The Pharmacy Purchasing Officer assists in the provision of a comprehensive pharmacy service and a centralised purchasing service based at Goulburn Base Hospital. This service is provided in accordance with Health Service Policy, the Poisons Act and associated regulations and relevant NSW Health Policies and the NSW Health Purchasing and Supply manual.


Selection Criteria

  1. Successfully completed a nationally recognised Pharmacy Technician Certificate Course at Certificate Level IV or has qualifications deemed by the employer to be equivalent.
  2. Demonstrated experience in administration of inventory, associated accounts and purchasing processes within the pharmacy environment.
  3. Experience in pharmacy assistant/technician activities and procedures including relevant computer skills related to this position.
  4. Effective communication, both oral and written and the ability to meet tight timeframes and complex tasks with accurately.
  5. Demonstrated ability to build strong and productive relationships with other Department, Units and facilities.
  6. Ability to work both individually and in a team environment.
  7. Evidence of a current unrestricted driver's licence and the ability to maintain. Ability and willingness to drive/travel as the role requires. This may involve driving long distances and overnight stays.

This is a Category ‘A’ position, please read and understand NSW Health policy directivePD2023_022.All new employees must agree to comply with the requirements outlined in this policy. OASV requirements also include proof of vaccination against influenza and is compulsory for NSW Staff that enter any Residential Aged Care Facility (RACF) or who work in NSW Health owned and operated RACFs.

All NSW Health Category A workers are required to have received at least three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine. You will be required to provide a record of your COVID-19 vaccination status if successful.
