Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) is responsible for providing primary and secondary health care for people living in the Auburn, Blacktown, and The Hills Shire, Holroyd and Parramatta Local Government Areas (LGAs) and tertiary care to residents of the Greater Western Region. What you'll be doing
The Hospital in the Home (HITH) Occupational Therapist (OT) is responsible for the provision of high quality, patient centred, evidence informed occupational therapy services that promote identified patient health outcomes. The OT will assess, plan, implement and evaluate the occupational therapy care plan in collaboration with individuals and the multidisciplinary HITH healthcare Service.
The OT will provide clinical services to HITH patients, and work in collaboration with the HITH Senior OT in the provision of care for those with complex care needs requiring advanced practice skills and the application of professional knowledge and judgement.
The OT will exercise professional judgement, and consult with the HITH Senior OT when required, in resolving problems and managing cases where principles, procedures, techniques and methods require expansion, adaptation and /or modification.
The OT contributes to the planning, implementation, evaluation and reporting of HITH healthcare services to meet required Accreditation Standards and WSLHD Executive Strategic Plan.

Essential Requirement:

  1. Qualification: Degree or Diploma recognised by AAOT-NSW
    Registration: Current Registration as anOccupational Therapist with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

Selection Criteria:

  1. Current Registration as an Occupational Therapist with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  2. Current NSW Driver Licence.
  3. Demonstrated skill, with minimal supervision, in patient assessment, planning and evaluation of interventions, from an occupational therapy perspective, for adult clients in a community setting.
  4. Demonstrated ability with patient assessment, planning and goal setting and evaluation of Occupational Therapy interventions.
  5. Demonstrated ability to use initiative and manage complex client issues and problem-solving, with the formulation and implementation of care plans, and monitoring of patient outcomes.
  6. Demonstrated good written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills, coaching and facilitation skills, including the ability to develop and maintain relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, clients and carers.
  7. Good time management and organisation skills with attention to detail.
