Te whiwhinga mahi| The Opportunity

We have an opportunity available for a New Zealand Registered Dietitian interested in stepping into a Renal Dietitian role. This is an opportunity to join our dynamic and supportive Renal team within the Nutrition and Dietetics Service based at Auckland City Hospital. This role would see you working permanent, part-time (28 hours /week) Monday to Friday, with the option of roster weekends. This role will see you working closely with the Renal Service providing nutrition care for patients with chronic kidney disease including pre-dialysis, dialysis, renal transplant and kidney stone prevention in both the outpatient and inpatient settings.

The role is ideal for a dietitian with excellent communication, organisation skills and ability to work independently as part of a dynamic team.

  • Proactively work with a complex caseload delivering high quality evidence based clinical care in a fast-paced environment
  • This role will support you to progress your skills and knowledge in the comprehensive management of renal patients
  • Work in partnership with an individual and their whānau to provide client care
  • Make positive contributions to patient care within our Nutrition and Dietetics team whilst ensuring a thorough clinical reasoning process
  • Optimize patient experience by utilizing your excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Implement individual intervention and monitoring plans tailored for client needs
  • Collaborate with team members and other work groups to achieve our service objectives
  • Evaluate service requirements and implement clinical research and audits
  • Provide advanced clinical resource both locally and regionally

Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills

As the ideal person for this role you will have the following skills and attributes:

  • New Zealand Registered Dietitian with a current Annual Practicing Certificate
  • 1-2 years post graduate experience preferably working with patients with long-term condition(s)
  • Full, clean NZ Drivers’ License
  • Be a great connector of people and ideas
  • An understanding of bicultural issues and commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a range of professional groups in a multidisciplinary setting
  • Effective time management, flexibility, prioritisation and organisation skills
  • Drive, energy and initiative with excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Salary Range (Depending on experience) fromStep 3 $86,045 to step 10 $113,000
