Bass Coast Health (BCH) is the sub-regional health service for the Bass Coast and South Gippsland Shires, with sites at Wonthaggi, Cowes, San Remo.

In order to support our rapidly growing population, we're growing our services and the complexity of our organisation. This includes adding a new $115 million hospital expansion and renovated facilities to ensure we meet the increasing health care needs of our region.

Position Summary

We are seeking applications from nurses passionate about facilitating acccess to learning, development and growth opportunities and fostering a culture of life-long learning. Clinical Nurse Educators are responsible for the planning, implementation and evaluation of educational initiatives. Clinical Educators identify workforce learning needs, craft tailored learning plans and coordinate development opportunities. These may include organising in-service sessions, facilitating study days, conducting thorough needs analyses, identifying avenues for professional growth and development opportunities and providing Learning and Development representation during times of service development.

The Learning and Development team currently has two Clinical Nurse Educator positions available 0.6EFT permenant part time and 0.4EFT temporary part time until March 16th 2025. These positions will be allocated a portfolio of clinical focus - current departmental requirements see support required in the Learning and Development Clinical Nurse Educator and Inpatient Services Clinical Nurse Educator portfolios. These roles will support skill development and organisational service growth within these portfolios.

MANDATORY:

  • Registered Nurse holding current registration with NMBA
  • Demonstrated experience in specialty area of nursing
  • Evidence of recent clinical experience.
  • Previous experience in support and development of staff
  • Evidence of active participation in continuing education and self-development activities.
  • A valid Police Check and WWCC

  • Highly desired - post-graduate qualifications
  • Advanced Life Support competency
  • Ability to participate in the recruitment and selection process
  • Ability to participate in the performance management process.
  • Effective communication
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Commitment to the principles of quality management and evidence-based practice
