Health Assistant in Nursing (HAN)

Ward 5 South East is a 30 bed acute general Medicine ward providing care to patients admitted under RMH’s three General Medicine units. The ward has a multidisciplinary approach to patient management that focus on collaboration to provide safe, timely effect person centred care to patients with complex care needs.

Your new role:

  • Participate in delegated care relating to patients activities of daily living, ensuring that the personal needs, dignity, and comfort of patients are maintained
  • Provide constant observation to patients at risk of harm to self/others
  • Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary health care team to achieve the desired patient outcomes.

About You:

  • Individuals who have completed a certificate III in individual support (Health Assistant)
  • Previous experience working in an acute healthcare setting is preferred but not essential
  • Individuals who strive to provide high quality patient care
  • Commit to a rotation roster Monday - Sunday, including morning, afternoon and night shifts
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with other staff, patients and their families
