Purpose of Position
Enusre correct reproceesing of Reprocessable Medical Devices (RMDs)
Compliance with Australian Standard AS4187-2014, relevant ISO standards and NSQ
Compliance with Infection Control Policy PD 2007_036
Qualification and/or demonstrated experience relevant to the position especially knowledge and experience of Orthopaedic requirements in a hospital setting.
Demonstrated ability to understand the relevant industry standards eg Australian New Zealand 4187:2003 and NSW Health Infection Control Policy 2007_036 and ability to implement NSW Health Sterilisation and Disinfection Core Competencies at unit, facility and network sites, and their role in complying with NSW Health PD 2013_054 Management of Instruments, Accountable Items and Other Items used for Surgery or Procedures.
Ability to understand and apply NSW Health key performance indicators for sterilization services including the ability to maintain accurate and appropriate records.
Ability to provide direction and advice to senior management on sterilization services for the network.
Proven computer literacy within the healthcare setting and willingness to learn programs specific to Central Sterilising Services.
Ability to manage human and financial resources and supervise on and off campus staff.
Leadership ability to drive and implement change management in a networked healthcare setting; with provision to participate and progress future developments in planning for sterilization services.
Knowledge and understanding of the principles of EQUIP (ACHS) National Standards program and commitment to quality outcomes.
