The Role
An opportunity has become available for several Clinical Nurses (Wattle Inpatient Unit) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Provide expert clinical care within a specific area supporting the general function of the unit
- Contribute to development of team capability, provide operational process direction, training, mentoring, reflective practice, clinical supervision
- Deal positively with uncertainty or conflict, cope effectively in a changing environment and respond constructively to unpredictable and/or challenging situations
- Proactively pursue professional development opportunities reflective of your professional development plan
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- A Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
- Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
- Credentialed through the College of Mental Health Nurses (or be prepared to work towards a credential in Mental Health Nursing)
- A graduate certificate or greater within a relevant specialty area is highly desirable
- Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Permanent full time and permanent part time (64 – 80 hrs p.f)
- Base salary ranging from $107 960 - $115 604 per annum, $54.44 - $58.30 per hour
About Us
The Wattle Child and Youth Inpatient Unit at Robina Hospital provides 24-hour care for children and adolescents who are suffering from emotional or behavioural disturbances. Clients are admitted to the 8-bed unit for the treatment of acute mental illnesses, comprehensive assessments or for planned psychotherapy. The Unit has multidisciplinary staffing to cover a wide range of services with the major objective to offer support, education and reestablishment back into the community.
