Where you'll be working

Population and Community Health (PaCH) is part of South Eastern Sydney Local Health District.

PaCH provides community health services that give care to individuals, families and carers, as well as population health services that focus on the whole community or key groups within the community.

PaCH's services are provided at the District's hospitals, community-based facilities including child and family health centres, community health centres and specialist clinics. We work with other service providers across South Eastern Sydney Local Health District, including hospitals and mental health services.

The Role

The Oral Health Service is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced dental officer to join our multidisciplinary team. Position is part time 3 days per week.

Clinicians at this level are competent practitioners with at least two years clinical experience. They must be able to work under minimal professional supervision, exercising independent professional judgement on routine clinical matters.


The successful applicant will deliver high quality clinical services, including oral health education, to eligible clients in South Eastern Sydney Local Health District across any of four adult dental clinics.

Selection Criteria

  1. Current registration as a Dentist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  2. A minimum of two years post-graduate experience in the practice of dentistry and a demonstrated ability to exercise independent professional judgment.
  3. Successful completion of the Dental Officers Skills Assessment set by the Centre for Oral Health Strategy. This applies to Dental Officers progressing from Level 1 to Level 2.
  4. Excellent oral and written communication skills and a demonstrated ability to liaise effectively with a range of individuals including the general public.
  5. Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to a preventive / population health approach to patient care.
  6. Willingness to participate in quality improvement activities and participate in clinical research activities as required.
  7. Demonstrated commitment to continuing education and professional development.
  8. Ability and willingness to travel for work purposes within SESLHD.
