This is a Recruitment Pool for Fixed Term Full Time appointments for 6 or 12 months with the possibility of extension(s).
Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur. Appointments may be made from this pool until 31/12/2024.
Appointments for this position will not commence until 2025.
Position Profile:
This opportunity is available to a medical professional, eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia with clinical experience in a relevant specialty at or above post graduate level, who is highly motivated with an interest and commitment to research, quality improvement and education. As a Fellow in Medical Oncology, you will work under the supervision of the department’s Consultants at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, to provide leadership and education to other medical practitioners, undertake clinical research and trial work, prepare, and apply for research grants, undertake outpatient clinics and clinical duties, and participate in research and quality improvement activities in the Oncology department.
You will utilise your knowledge of clinical governance and research methodology, as well as your strong communication skills to provide clinical support, education and supervision to the Medical Oncology research department and junior medical staff; and will work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team to support the Medical Oncology department at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, and advance their clinical trial and research program to provide our patients with treatment options and access to new and innovative products and interventions.

Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital (SCGH) is one of Australia's leading teaching tertiary hospitals. Located at the Queen Elizabeth II Medical Centre 4km from Perth city centre, SCGH provides a comprehensive range of clinical service including trauma, emergency and critical care, orthopaedics, general medicine, general surgery and cardiac care. It is home to WA's only comprehensive cancer centre - the largest cancer treatment centre in the State - and is the State's principal hospital for neurosurgery and liver transplants.
