Purpose of Position
To provide operational management and supervision of the 6 staff, and to work within Community Health to implement or enhance systems for the support of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people receiving service.
Being of Aboriginal &/or Torres Strait Islander descent is a genuine occupational qualification for this position under Section 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW).
Tertiary qualifications in a health related field relevant to Aboriginal Health or relevant experience or a combination of study and work experience.
Experience in providing leadership in Aboriginal health services or programs
Demonstrated understanding of Aboriginal culture and issues relating to Aboriginal health and welfare
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with senior management, health professionals, peers and community members
Demonstrated strong negotiation and delegation skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
Demonstrated well-developed written and oral communication skills, demonstrated familiarity with Office applications and understanding of eMR electronic health record
Unrestricted NSW Class C drivers licence and ability to travel in accordance with position responsibilities
