Purpose of Position
To contribute to the total health care needs and expectations of clients, clinicians and staff, and the community we serve by providing and maintaining a high level of standard in the Central Coast Mental Health Department.
Comply and adhere to statutory requirements and Area Mental Health Service and Central Coast Mental Health Service policies, practices and procedures.
Comply with directives from the Team Leader and Clerical Coordinatorr.
Co-operate with other staff members to ensure that duty requirements and standards are being met and maintained.
Advanced knowledge of practical skills with MS Office products, in particular Microsoft Word, Excel, GroupWise, Power Point and eMR with accurate word processing, data entry and minute taking skills.
Previous experience in dealing with conflict and/or challenging behaviours.
Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and to prioritise and meet deadlines with a “sense of urgency”
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including telephone communication and public relations skills
Understanding of Medical Terminology
Ability to work in a busy environment without supervision, within a multi disciplinary team
Knowledge of appropriate mental health legal requirements and proven ability of working with and relating to consumers and families with a mental illness.
