Executive and Management

Purpose of Position

The Director of Information Communication Technology develops organisationally aligned ICT strategies to enable the business to achieve strategic and operational goals, and leads the organisation’s ICT capability to maximise benefits realisation from ICT investments to improve operational effectiveness across the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD).

Selection Criteria

Strong understanding of current technology directions, trends and strategic business impact of key business and ICT initiatives in a large and or complex service industry supported by a tertiary degree or appropriate industry experience

Demonstrated successful leadership experience to drive enterprise objectives through the ability to predict, analyse and manage cultural and technological changes within the health service sector or equivalent complex service sector

Comprehensive knowledge of strategic and operational business principles and substantive experience in ICT service delivery, processes and technology operations and relationships in a dynamic and complex environment comprising of both shared and outsourced solutions, as well as support of in-house information and communication technology systems and services in a multi-site client-service environment. This environment could include among others practice management, financial management and clinical management or equivalent complex multi-layered information and communication systems and services

Dynamic and sophisticated leadership and change management experience in developing and energising multidisciplinary and high performance work teams to deliver customer focussed, value adding and or innovative services, and to learn and apply new skills to changing business needs

Demonstrated high level business management skills and experience in delivering high standard ICT services:

(a) Contract management and negotiations with funders, customers, service providers (including MOH and eHealth) and vendors to achieve business outcomes

(b) Budget and resource development, planning and management to maintain an effective and viable ICT service for the LHD

(c) Development and implementation of standard ICT service level agreements, policy and processes

Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, communication, consultation and negotiation skills and demonstrated ability to develop and maintain collaborative, strategic and operational relationships and networks that meet enterprise wide objectives

Strong understanding of change management within large organisations and complex environments and demonstrated ability to work autonomously while providing the required reporting and oversight to executive as required

Understanding and commitment to EEO and WH&S. Evidence of a current class C driver’s license. Ability and willingness to travel for work purposes
