Purpose of Position

In conjunction with Northern Hospital Network Director of Pharmacy (NHNDOP) responsible for the provision of a high quality pharmacy service to the Royal Hospital for Women (RHW) incorporating Quality Use of Medicines (QUM) principles and according to accepted standards and practices. Responsible for support, supervision and management of staff at the RHW Pharmacy including orientation of new/rotating staff to RHW. Develop policy, protocols and service initiatives in accordance with the business plan of the Department of Health and local organisational requirements Facilitate involvement in research and clinical trials activities.

Selection Criteria

Full registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia with no restrictions on scope of practice

Extensive experience in the provision of advanced clinical pharmacy services

Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills

Demonstrated leadership, initiative and problem solving skills

Demonstrated experience in Quality Use of Medicines, quality improvement and risk management

Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills, staff supervision and management skills

Demonstrated experience in teaching and research

A strong interest in the provision of women's health/ neonatal services
