Our fast paced Oncology Outpatients Department is the largest in NZ, offering nurses a wide range of autonomous practise opportunities in a very supportive environment.
Working in the Oncology Outpatient service provides opportunities to work in the Chemotherapy Day Stay Unit, Radiotherapy, Clinic and the Acute Oncology area.
This requires nurses with many skills including those of acute assessment and a good understanding of cancer treatment options. We are committed to providing excellent nursing care to patients and their whanau.
Experience in Oncology or Haematology is preferable but not necessary although we are seeking nurses who have a clear interest in developing their career in this acute area of practice.
You will need to be able to work autonomously and as part of a supportive nursing team committed to effective/evidenced based nursing practice.
Ideally you will have some experience in Oncology nursing but an excellent orientation programme, on-going education, varied work circumstances and rotation is provided if you strive to work in this rewarding but challenging field.
To be able to apply for this role you must meet the following essential requirements:
- Be registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand
- Have a current Annual Practicing Certificate
- Ideally have 3 years post registration experience in an acute hospital setting
The hours worked will be Monday to Friday. No night shifts! Permanent and Fixed Term positions available.
