Purpose of Position
To provide clinically focused care for Continence; in an advanced and extended clinical role as defined by the scope of practice associated with the role.
The Nurse Practitioner will provide health care within their agreed Scope of Practice and within an ethical, legal and risk management framework, through assessment, diagnosis and management of Continence. The attributes are clinically focused and are capable of research, education and leadership as applied to clinical care.
•Registered Nurse with current Authority to Practice with AHPRA. The equivalent of three (3) years’ full-time experience in an advanced practice nursing role within the area of intended practice, within the past six (6) years from the date when the complete application seeking endorsement as a Nurse Practitioner is received by the Board
•Successful completion of a Board-approved Nurse Practitioner qualification at Master’s level or education equivalence as determined by the Board
•Current and significant clinical nursing experience and/or knowledge in the area of Continence Nursing Practice, recognised as an expert by peers
•Experience and/or knowledge in strategic and operational service planning and quality improvement processes
•Significant experience and/or knowledge in the identification of education needs, education programme development, delivery and evaluation at a broad level
•Ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team with a high level of clinical leadership skill
•Advanced skills in writing and verbal communications and experience and/or knowledge in conducting and utilising research.
•Demonstrated computer/internet and information technology skills and current NSW Drivers Licence
