Purpose of Position
Paediatric assessment, diagnosis and intervention services for children & families across the Kempsey Macleay area presenting with communication and feeding/swallowing disorders.
This includes the development and implementation of appropriate clinical programs to individual clients and groups.
Services are provided across a variety of settings including community health, schools, preschools and home visits.
There is also a small component of adult acute inpatient work to Kempsey District Hospital (KDH)- Assessment & managment of swallowing and communication disorders for adult inpatients.
Recognised tertiary qualifications in Speech Pathology, eligibility for practising membership with Speech Pathology Australia and current Australian driver's licence or ability to acquire same.
Demonstrated clinical knowledge and skills including substantial post graduate clinical experience in assessment, management and treatment of paediatric and adult clients presenting with a range of communication and swallowing impairments in community & hospital settings.
Demonstrated ability to provide speech pathology to complex clients, exercising advanced clinical reasoning skills for circumstances and client groups of a more complex nature.
Proven skills and experience working as an effective member of multidisciplinary teams.
Demonstrated high level skills in time managment, written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills and computer literacy.
Demonstrated experience participating in the planning, implementation and evaluation of local service delivery incorporating the quality improvment process.
