Purpose of Position
The position is in the Environmental Services Department and provides a cleaning service to the facility, performs tasks such as the removal of waste and sharps containers, removal of soiled linen and management of portable oxygen equipment, as well as providing assistance to clinical staff to lift, roll, turn and otherwise mobilise heavy and/or difficult to manage patients. Tasks are allocated using a computerised task management system (CARPS), and two way radios are used to communicate with staff.
Relevant experience as a PSA, Wardsperson, Cleaner or similar.
Sound communication skills, both written and verbal.
Demonstrated capacity to follow written work instructions.
Demonstrated effective time management skills.
Willingness to work in close proximity to persons with infectious conditions.
Willingness to undertake basic mortuary procedures.
