About this role
The Assistant Metadata Project Officer is a key member of the NSW Health Metadata Unit, which is responsible for the day to day operation of NSW Health’s strategic metadata solutions, and is a key resource in applying consistent data standards and definitions for use across the entirety of the NSW public health sector. The Metadata Unit prides itself on responding rapidly and agilely to a constantly changing data collection environment, and is focused on meeting the challenges introduced by an expanding desire for more diverse and faster delivered health information.
Where you'll be working
The successful applicant would be working in the Metadata Unit, a part of the Information Management and Quality Unit within the System Information and Analytics Branch of the NSW Ministry of Health at North Sydney.
What you'll be doing
The role will require the successful candidate to manage a state wide database that identifies all NSW health services, processing and approving all day to day changes made by the local health districts.
This will involve some communication with the local health districts to ensure that all changes follow a consistent set of rules.
The role will also involve the updating of content within the NSW Health online metadata repository as directed by the Metadata Specialist and the Senior Metadata Support Officer.
This function will involve the successful applicant in understanding the way local health districts supply data to NSW Health, what content that data comprises, and how it is stored within the NSW Health data warehouses.
