About the Role

  • To work closely with nursing, medical and allied health staff members, providing clinical and professional leadership and acting as a role model and resource person within the ED environment.
  • To develop, monitor, assess and manage competency based standards essential to maintaining a safe practice within the ED.
  • To maintain and promote the profession of nursing by demonstrating ethical nursing practice, adherence of the policies and standards of the nursing service, Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District As further described in the PD.

    Selection Criteria to be addressed:

    1. Current registration with AHPRA Registered Nurse Division 1
    2. Relevant postgraduate qualification in speciality of critical care or management or working towards attainment
    3. Demonstrated skills in leading quality improvement/redesign projects and the associated change management
    4. Demonstrated sound financial skills with an ability to interpret financial reports
    5. Proven ability to motivate ,manage and develop nursing/midwifery staff to maintain a positive workplace culture
    6. Proven ability to assess nursing/midwifery utilisation and resource requirements within agreed targets
    7. Demonstrated effective leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
    8. Ability to travel with the LHD in accordance with the position
