About the opportunity
Current vacancy exists of 1.2FTE of register nurse, job share is considered for staff wanting to work less than Fulltime to maintain flexibility to work increased hours in times of leave relief or increased activity.

The registered nurse position within Medical Imaging requires a broad range of skills to assist in the delivery of a range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for patients within our LHD, core competencies include scrub/scout skills for interventional radiology procedures, cannulation skills, anaesthetic and procedural recovery and a large range of general nursing duties for both inpatient and outpatient presentations. Additional training will be offered to develop and improve these key areas.

Rostered shifts are day shifts only.

What you'll be doing
The Registered Nurse is an integral part of the multidisciplinary healthcare team providing nursing care to patients/clients of the health service; and leading, directing and supervising other nurses and care roles in the team, such as Enrolled Nurses (EN), Assistants in Nursing (AIN) and student Registered Nurses (RN), to support quality care for patients/clients.

  1.  Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  2. Demonstrated ability to practice in accordance with the Registered Nurse Standards of Practice, Code of Ethics for Nurses, and Code of Professional Conduct for Nurses (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia).
  3. Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology, written and verbal means; and sound interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate with a diverse range of people.
  4. An understanding of patient centred care and demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of the multi-disciplinary health care team.
  5. Recent clinical experience in Medical Imaging nursing, or experience in the care of patients in an acute clinical setting, ideally including scrub/scout and procedural based nursing care. 
  6. Demonstrated ability to lead, supervise, delegate, and negotiate with others to deliver quality nursing care.
  7. Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritise and organise workload and deliver care with integrity and accountability.
