We currently have a position available for a Physiotherapist to join our team, working on a permanent part-time basis.

The therapist will determine individual capabilities and plan interventions through collaborative assessment and use of specialist knowledge to assist residents to maximise independence, quality of life whilst remaining in a safe environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake assessments of residents on admission, at annual review and where needs change to determine required interventions, including mobility and pain management requirements; physical capabilities, potential for independence and restrictions due to medical conditions
  • Develop and document agreed interventions with the resident and multi-disciplinary team to improve or develop function, improve quality of life and support independence and safety
  • Educate residents, families, and caregivers in the implementation of interventions required.
  • Supervise the Physiotherapy Assistant ensuring physiotherapy plans are undertaken as indicated
  • Undertake pain management treatment in line with ACFI framework, providing residents with quality hands on time and utilizing treatments techniques such as therapeutic massage, TENs machines, and specific exercises
  • Work effectively as a team across all business areas ensuring excellent communication at all times to both staff, clients and clients’ support people.

Essential Criteria for the Role

  • Hold a current and valid AHPRA registration as a physiotherapist
  • Demonstrated understanding of working with people within aged care and with those with dementia
  • Previous experience with the demand to the changing needs of the residents/clients, families and care teams
  • Sound written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated history of producing clear, timely and concise documentation
  • Previous practical experience undertaking client assessments and developing appropriate care plans
  • Ability to show initiative, discretion and judgment in designation and delegation of care
