Speech Pathologist

Purpose of Position

Delivery of speech pathology services to patients admitted in the SERH Sub – Acute Unit.  Possible responsibility for supervision of Allied Health Assistant or trainee, Speech pathology students and work experience students, if staff member has at least 12 months post graduate experience.

Selection Criteria

1) Must hold a Bachelor or post graduate degree in speech pathology which provides eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia

2) Demonstrated knowledge and/or post graduate experience in providing a comprehensive service to adults with communication and swallowing disorders in acute, rehabilitation and/or adult outpatient settings

3)Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate in a multi-disciplinary team including consultation, collaboration and conflict resolution skills

4) Demonstrated commitment to evidence based practice, ongoing professional development and quality improvement activities

5) Ability to plan and coordinate client care independently and operate effectively within a multidisciplinary team

6) Demonstrated efficient time management, organisational skills and familiarity with computer based client record systems

7) Evidence of Current class C drivers licence and willingness to travel for work purposes
