Purpose of Position
The purpose of the eMeds Pharmacist is to assist with the development and implementation of the electronic Medication Management (eMeds) project in Sydney Local Health District. This includes building and testing components of the electronic medication system. The successful applicant will also assist in development of plans for implementation of the eMeds with particular focus on Pharmacy services and participate in go-live activities and support.
The Mission of the eMeds project team is to enhance patient centered care through the development and deployment of a safe and innovative and forward thinking medication management system that is intuitive, user friendly and efficient.
Full registration as a Pharmacist with AHPRA (including an ability to practice unsupervised) and extensive experience in a range of hospital clinical environments.
Must be able to demonstrate an understanding of the role of the hospital pharmacist in contributing to positive health outcomes and an understanding of medication processes within a hospital environment.
Demonstrated understanding or experience of computerised clinical information systems such as a pharmacy system or EMR, and a high level of proficiency or ability to quickly gain proficiency in the use of PC applications.
Demonstrated attention to detail and good organisational skills with the ability to effectively prioritise multiple tasks at one time
Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills including high level skills with the Microsoft office suite of applications particularly Word, Excel and Outlook
Demonstrated ability to work both as part of a team and individually. This includes ability to show initiative and take direction when required.
